Role Description
We are seeking a part-time HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist to join our team at King Schools. This is a hybrid role located in San Diego, CA, with flexibility for some remote work. The HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist will be responsible for a variety of human resources and payroll tasks, including but not limited to employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, payroll processing, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
What You'll Do:
Human Resources:
Provide onboarding and offboarding support for new and departing employees.
Assist with employee relations, including answering questions, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate employee records.
Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with company goals.
Ability to practice discretion and maintain strict confidentiality and security of personnel files and information.
Payroll:
Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Manage payroll deductions and taxes.
Analyze payroll data and generate reports.
Liaise with payroll vendors and external agencies.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 2 years of experience in HR and payroll, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and highly accurate.
Flexible and adaptable, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must reside in San Diego or willing to relocate to the San Diego area.
Bonus Points:
Experience with ADP.
Familiarity with payroll software platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer:
$30-40 an hour depending on experience.
